Snug and cozy, this space is a private home retreat with a harbourfront view. Easily accessed at ground level, our clean and comfortable single bedroom suite is just footsteps from some of the best restaurants and nightlife that St. John’s has to offer.
The main living area of Abide Awhile Galley is relaxing and comfortable with a modern electric heat feature (which can vary with the look and intensity of heat). This space also features a compact bistro set that can be brought outside on the adjoining deck, when weather permits.
Abide Awhile Galley is very well-suited for a couple; yet can sleep up to four guests, with one Queen bedroom and a living room couch that is also a convenient pull-out for sleeping.
The galley kitchen, where derives the name, is cozy and compact but fully serviceable having all kitchen supplies that is needed or wanted for a most comfortable stay. You will find nothing amiss here. An anti-fatigue mat, which runs the length of this area, is just the thing to add comfort to practicality.
During the warmer spring and summer months, you can find relief with the living room fan and a wonderful breeze which blows through The Galley‘s main living space. There is also a cold window air conditioner that we install in the kitchen when the city gets a real heat wave; not often in St. John’s but nice to have when it does happen.
This area is up and coming with many other short term rentals, enjoying a colourful and diverse downtown culture of people both locals and visitors alike.
This private apartment features a patio with a great view of St. John’s harbor – so much so that, as a side note, the upstairs larger space (two bedroom) of this triplex, The Harbourview Loft, was featured in the 2013 movie The Grand Seduction as one of the lead actor’s home away from home in the city. As well, right next door on ground level we have Rhoda’s Place, the third in our group of three also with a little more room to spread out, having two bedrooms.

Please note that the Abide Awhile Galley offers street parking only. However, we provide a parking pass for one car, allowing you to conveniently park in the designated area.
If you happen to have more than one car and it’s the weekend, no parking pass is required. Feel free to park additional vehicles with no trouble at all.
